The 2006 'Battle of the Blues Bands,'
presented by the Monterey Bay Blues Festival, was held Sunday Nov 19th, from 2:00pm - 7:00pm, in the San Carlos Ballroom of the Monterey Marriott Hotel in downtown Monterey, CA. Proceeds benefitted the youth scholarship fund.
The Monterey Blues Festivals 'Battle of the Blues Bands' was open to the public and featured Nine Blues Bands performing in 15 minute auditions showcasing their work to a host of talent buyers and critics from central California. Three bands will be provided a financial award and were scheduled to play the 22nd Annual Monterey Bay Blues Festival, June 2007. The Grand Prize winner will also represented the MBBF at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN and opened the Monterey Bay Blues Festival from the Main Stage on Saturday, June 23rd, 2007.
