Etta James

Proceeds from the event benefit the educational programs offered to local youth through the Monterey Bay Blues Festival.

The Monterey Bay Blues Festival, in conjunction with Joe Fletcher Presents, presented an evening with Etta James and the Roots Band. The legendary Etta James performed in the historic Golden State Theatre in downtown Monterey, Ca. on Friday December 7, 2007.

This promises was an exceptional concert in an intimate setting with the three-time Grammy award winning artist whose recording career has endured five decades. Etta James’ remarkable talent has touched several genres, including blues, jazz, rock-n-roll and soul. She is known as a blue belter, R&B Queen, “Soulful Miss Peaches” a jazz songbird and was recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. She is one of the most prolific female vocalists of her era. Etta James makes her return appearance in the Monterey Bay since she headlined The Monterey Bay Blues Festival in 2004.

The Monterey Bay Blues Festival, a non-profit organization, is honored to again have presented Etta James again in the beautifully restored 1920’s theatre. The fundraiser benefits the Blues in the Schools program as well as the MBBF Scholarship program.
