The Volker Strifler Band

The Volker Strifler Band earned their spot on this year's main stage as the 2007 Monterey Bay Blues Festival Battle of the Blues Bands first-place winner. Volker Strifler was born in Heidelberg Germany and started playing guitar at the age of 17. Meeting an American Blues singer by the name of Lee Reed, who introduced him to the Blues, was to be a life-changing event. Strifler consequently moved to the United States to learn from the multitude of talented blues performers that could be found here. Throughout his twenties, while playing in local San Francisco Bay Area bands, he developed a unique style blending his musical experiences into the consummate guitar player he is today.
